Codes of Conduct
The FSM sets standards in youth protection in which it develops voluntary commitments for various areas of the online world, in conjunction with its member companies. The so-called Codes of Conduct are developed together with the companies and provide for the maintenance of youth protection and its application in practice. The rules specified in the voluntary commitments are based on the principles of the legislation but they have the advantage that they can be adapted more rapidly and flexibly to new trends and technologies. In the course of the past year the FSM has developed codes of conduct for the areas of search engines, chat, mobile communications, social communities and teletext.
