Public consultation "Child Safety and Mobile Phone Services"

In July 2006 the European Commission launched a public consultation concerning "Child Safety and Mobile Phone Services". Drastic increase of mobile phone use among children and juveniles and the more and more extensive offer of mobile media content were the reason for this step. The FSM and its members among the German mobile phone operators have issued a statement to the consultation. Among other things, the statement emphasises on the need for the effective promotion of media literacy. The statement can be accessed here.
